Location
Where are we?
Kid’s Life is in the province of Chiang Mai, more specifically it is in the Village of Huy Ngu on the outskirts of Fang. For an exact address please refer to the contact details page.
Local information
Fang is in the very north of Thailand which is a highly mountainous area. The local mountains are a great source of beauty. The majority of people in the north of Thailand are farmers growing crops of rice, fruit, corn and other vegetables. Mostly people farm to provide food for their own needs but are usually able to earn a small income selling the excess at local markets.

The north of Thailand is also home to many Hill Tribe People Groups including the Ahkah, Lahu, Palong, Karen, and Mong. These make for interesting visits with a vast array of cultures close by. Whenever possible we take the children to such Tribes to share kindness and the gospel with those wanting to listen.
Climate
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with three distinct seasons- hot and dry from February to May (average temperature 34 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity); rainy with plenty of sunshine from June to October (average day temperature 29 degrees Celsius and 87% humidity); and cool from November to January (temperatures range from 32 degrees Celsius to below 20 degrees Celsius with a drop in humidity). Much lower temperatures are experienced here in the North during night time and early mornings in the cooler season.
How to find us
From Chiang Rai…
If you are travelling from Chiang Rai it is probably easiest to contact us and arrange to be picked up.
From Chiang Mai…
If you are travelling from Chiang Mai buses leave from the bus station every hour and come directly to Fang, where we can arrange to have you picked up. This trip takes on average of between 2 ½ and 3 hours. (please note, that the roads around the hills are windy and if you do suffer from travel sickness you may like to take precautions for this). The bus usually costs about 80 baht to 140 Baht, per person, one way.
Air conditioned mini buses are also available from Chiang Mai but are more expensive than the bus; how much exactly depends on the service you require. These can be hired exclusively for the use of a team and can pick you up from your hotel (or airport) and bring you straight to the Kid’s Life site. Alternatively you can book seats on a mini bus (around 140 baht) that leaves from the bus station and will drop you off in Fang. The mini bus is usually quicker than the bus. If you wish to travel by mini bus please supply us with details and we will book places on your behalf. The information we will require is:
- Number of people
- Do you require picking up from a hotel or airport?
- Do you wish to be brought to the Kid’s Life site?
- Date mini bus is required
- Time you wish to depart Chiang Mai
Please remember to include your return details too or to ask us to help you book your return journey while you are here with us.
